About

emmsio is run by architect and designer Emma Sjöholm from Finland. Emma holds a master's degree in architecture from Aalto University, Finland (2025) and a bachelor's degree in architecture from University of Dundee, Scotland (2021).

Emma attempts to understand the human psyche through her works in the built environment and bespoke furniture. In her master thesis, titled Emotional Attachment in Architecture, she questions the attitude and relationship the modern person has towards all things design related, and sees an opportunity to reconnect with our true selves through the art and architecture around us.

Emma works in different mediums and has a hands-on approach to designing, where she can often be found in the wood workshop making mockups for both architecture and design projects.
